Game Design & Production Assignment #8

Number of Players: 4+

Objective:

To collect 4 food cards of the same season and successfully make a signal with the partner. Once the partner gets the signal without getting notice by other players, your partner has to say signal in order to win the game and gain 1 point for your team.

However if the other team notices this signal, they can say Block, which will stop the other team from winning, giving a point to this team. However if this team falsely declares signal, then this team will lose a point

How to Play:
A the beginning every one splits into teams of 2 before the game starts, the team must decide 2 signals, 1 for each season. Each person is dealt 4 cards at the beginning. Each round 4 cards are taken from the deck and put on the playing field. Any player may take a card and put it into their hand, however a person is only allowed to hold 4 cards at a time. Therefore for a player to get a card from the field they must swap it with a card they have in their hand. Once everyone is done with the cards, the 4 cards current on the playing field is put into the discarded pile, and may never be used again in the current game. A new set of 4 cards will be drawn from the deck, and a new round will begin.

Prototype #3 - Chaiyya Party Party

Name: Chaiyya Party Party
Number of Players: any party size

Objective:
To interact with other players and learn their dance moves in order to win.

How to Play:
Distribute the cards evenly to all players, every player has to have at least 3 cards. Players have until the end of the party to perform all other players' dance moves from memory. Therefore, players would have to approach, interact with, and dance with other players and learn their dance routine at the same time. Once a player remembers all other players' moves, he/ she can say so and perform the moves, other players will judge if his/ her dance is performed correctly. If the player successfully perform all other players' moves, he/ she wins.

Card:

All the cards are very self explanatory.

Concepts & Ideas:
This game is inspired by the music video "Chaiyya Chaiyya", which is a music with light beat and lots of dance moves. We want to bring that into our game. Our goal for this party game is big and international, so while we make up cards with dance moves that are inspired from Chaiyya Chaiyya, we remove the feature of clothing and gender to suit the variety of players around the globe. At the same time, we make the art style very entertaining and thought provoking to ensure players will have a fun time playing with the cards.
